Firmware v3.30 To Add Custom Themes

Liven up the Live Area with custom icons, background music, and more!

Sony Computer Entertainment Japan Asia announced during their pre-Tokyo Game Show press conference that PS Vita users will have new customization options to look forward to in the upcoming firmware update, v3.30.

The custom themes allow users to change the background pictures, icons for the default apps, and livescreen music to alter the look and sound of the Live Area OS to their favorite games such as Danganronpa, Freedom Wars, Oreshika: Tainted Bloodlines, and Phantasy Star Nova.

There is no word yet if those specific themes will be available outside of Japan or when the update will be released*. Usually when Sony announces an update there is not that long of a wait for the release.

*Update: The PlayStation Blog announced that the update will release sometime this Fall.
