The sequel to arguably one of the PS Vita's finest titles, Danganronpa, has finally received a release date for North America and Europe. North American games will be able to purchase Danganronpa 2: Goodbye Despair on September 2, 2014 and Europe will get it on September 5, 2014. The game will be available in retail and on the PSN.
Just like in the first game, players will take on the role of a high school student as they are thrust into a life-or-death situation, and must use their wits and teamwork to survive. Each student was chosen for a special ability they possess, making them the “ultimate” example of something.
Instead of taking place in the dark and dreary halls of Hope's Peak Academy. You and your classmates are taken to Jabberwock Island, once a popular tourist destination, for a field trip. Things start off great for everyone until the disastrous Monokuma returns to restart his game of murder.
The only way the students can get off the island is by killing somebody without getting caught. Players need to investigate into each scene of murder to forage for clues, and interview your classmates to reveal the opportunity, motive, and means behind each case.
NIS America also unveiled a Limited Edition of the game on its web store that includes a physical copy of the game, a softcover art book, an original soundtrack, a collector’s box, a shiny gold Monocoin, Monokuma-themed sunglasses, and a sticker.
