The Hallucinatory, One Way Trip Is Coming Out In 2015

One Way Trip is about you and your brother Barry discover that you have been poisoned in a mass attack on the water supply that has left a large portion of the nation with only six hours left to live, during which time they will be constantly hallucinating.

The goal of the story mode is for the characters, story, and even the game’s genre to change depending on how you play. Players could end up with anything from a surrealist action-movie-style romp with turret sequences to a quiet, meditative philosophical journey where you never fire a single shot.

There will be a separate mode dedicated to the turn-based combat system that you see in the trailer. The battle mode will blend aspects of turn-based strategy RPGs and first- and third-person shooters in a wave-based dungeon crawler arrangement. Players will have a squad of characters to customize the loadouts to and explore different tactics and upgrades.

The reason why it's not in the story mode is that the developers said that they grew uncomfortable with it and how they didn't like how the gameplay of it affected the balance of the narrative, they loved how it played so much that they put it in it's own separate mode on the same scale as the story mode.

One Way Trip will be releasing to the PS Vita sometime in 2015. I hope it turns out great as this ambitious title could be quite awesome if the developers pull it off well.
