Own MLB 12?

If you own MLB 12, would you perhaps be interested in taking part in a little competition I've dreamed up?

When I play sports games, like MLB 12 or any other, I rarely play them for the actual 'game content' where you're out on the field doing whatever. Instead of that, I'm near exclusively playing the manager mode, building my team, wheeling and dealing, and watching it boom or bust under my careful supervision.
While I'll occasionally make some odd exceptions, I rarely play any games that my team comes up, even if it is a matchup in the playoffs. I leave it all to trust in what I constructed and plain old luck. Its quite fulfilling to eventually create the ever so elusive formula that leads you to victory.

So, with that being said, I present to you the challenge which you may well have surmised already:

I want to challenge you to being the better General Manager of a team!

We would be competing to see who could use their General Managing skills to build the strongest team over say, let's start off small, 3 years?

We'd use the same rosters, the same team, and the same settings. All the settings would be the default, except one. Whenever I start up, I change the trades to being decided on instantly. The CPU will still decide on whether or not to accept the trade the same way they would with the setting off (Giving a Yes or No answer), there is a completely different setting for making them bend to your will without question (an option I don't ever use), but that decision won't have any delay. It speeds things along and makes things easier, nothing exploitative.

Much would hinge on the honor system in this little scheme, but screenshots of the team's record could be exchanged at various, key points in the season to offer a bit of reassurance to both parties.

While it wouldn't be required, I'd certainly enjoy exchanging information with a theorized person in this undertaking about free agent signings, rotation changes, trades, and other such things.

To figure out the victor at the end of the three year stretch, we could score on various metrics which we could hash out at some point, but could be something to the effect of:
  • Winning Record - 1 Point
  • Postseason Appearance - .5 Points
  • Advance Round 2 Postseason - 1 Point
  • Win the Pennant - 2 Points
  • World Series - 3 Points
  • World Series Victory - 2 Points
  • Best Record in the league - .5 Points
  • Win Division - .5 Points
  • Most Valuable Player - .25 Points
  • Cy Young Winner - .25 Points
  • Rookie of the Year - .25 Points
We could also do something as simple as merely comparing Wins, Losses, and Postseason success to one another to gauge the victor.

Lots of options to go over.

It can be as complicated or as simple as we want to make it, but the one thing common to any setup would be the FUN!

Anyone interested?
